Hello Friends! I really wanted to get up this early a.m. to greet and wish you "bon voyage" but my little eyes wouldn't open at 3:30 a.m. My kitties awakened me at 6:30 a.m. and my first thought was "ah...they are on the plane...at least I HOPE they are on the plane!" :) I sat on my sofa at 7:00 a.m. for my morning Centering Prayer and opened my Psalms for Praying and the verse from Psalm 75 LEAPT (is that a word?) out: "Let us rejoice and be glad! Let us sing praises to the Beloved! As the unjust and oppressors dwell in the wildnernes, THOSE WILL LIVE WITH MERCY AND TRUTH WILL SOAR LIKE THE EAGLE!" My love and prayers are with you! Much love, Margaret
It was exciting to read about your first day. You must have all been extremely tired and yet the adrenalin must of kicked in to keep you going!! Nick and I are praying for all of you!!! Love, hugs and prayers. Nick and Mary Ann
Hi y'all, I was so exicted to be able to take some of you to the airport for your departing flight. I thank you for that. Your picture is on my office door here at St. Bede so I can pray for you throughout the day, as well as allowing visitors to see your smilin' faces. Godspeed my dear friends. Travle safe and we can't wait to 'hear all about it". Love and prayers, Moira
The mission of the Wa-St. Bede Mission Partnership is to sustain along-term relationship of respect and solidarity, by sharing of life and ministry, characterized bymutualityandspirituality.
St. Bede the Venerable Parish is located in La Cañada, California, USA, and the Diocese of Wa is located in Upper West Ghana, West Africa.
On What Kinds of Projects do the Partners Collaborate?
Fall 2008 and some of 2009 were spent developing a mission statement, a vision, and goals for the Partnership.
In Summer 2009, the Partners are discussing ways they can work together to share in and enhance each others' lives. Some ideas have included letter-writing between students and parents, scholarships for girls and underserved students to attend high school, people exchanges, liturgy-sharing, and boreholes for easier access to water.
Underlying any individual project, however, remains the Partnership's fundamental goal to share our lives and friendship with each other.
