Thank you so much for your dance and especially for thinking about us!!! I really enjoyed your gift to us! Please know that you are continuously prayed for by myself and all our community!
I agree with Fr. Jim. What a beautiful gift you have given us through your children. What a wonderful reminder that the most simple of gestures can have such an impact, especially over so great a distance. You have also taught me a new word: "Yani" which I gather is "Welcome, I greet you".
And thanks to Fr. Severo for shooting this video and sending it to us.
Dear Fr. Sevaro and Friends, It has been said that God is love. Therefore, after seeing the children dance, love through dance is an expansion on that concept. Seeing the children dance with heart felt loving greeting reminds me of how very connected we all are in God's love despite the miles between us. Love, Angela
Just snippets of the combination of culture, faith and communication among people in the Wa Diocese. It is good to preserve the cultural heritage, and especially the contribution of children to the harmony of the Dagaaba/Dagara community. More grease to your elbows! Greg Dongkore
The mission of the Wa-St. Bede Mission Partnership is to sustain along-term relationship of respect and solidarity, by sharing of life and ministry, characterized bymutualityandspirituality.
St. Bede the Venerable Parish is located in La Cañada, California, USA, and the Diocese of Wa is located in Upper West Ghana, West Africa.
On What Kinds of Projects do the Partners Collaborate?
Fall 2008 and some of 2009 were spent developing a mission statement, a vision, and goals for the Partnership.
In Summer 2009, the Partners are discussing ways they can work together to share in and enhance each others' lives. Some ideas have included letter-writing between students and parents, scholarships for girls and underserved students to attend high school, people exchanges, liturgy-sharing, and boreholes for easier access to water.
Underlying any individual project, however, remains the Partnership's fundamental goal to share our lives and friendship with each other.
